ply wood.
amazing design.
I have always championed the use of natural materials (wood in particular) and a simple clean aesthetic. This may well be the first time I have had to step back and wonder if it’s a little much?
Im going to go with ‘no’.

The reasons behind the design choices, both stylistically, architecturally and in the materials have been true to the owners wants and needs for the house.
It is intended to be a family home and designed in such a way to allow it to ‘grow’ and develop and change as the family does. It is also supposed to be designed to make the inhabitants feel as close to nature as possible; both in choice of materials and architectural features highlighting the physical environment in which the house stands.
I think they have done a spectacular job if only that it hits the BIG 3 for me; natural light, tons of wood and walls of bookshelves.
please don’t mistake this for someone who is severely behind the curve.. this is merely me making a point to direct people back to Schuman’s blog ‘The Satorialist’. His posts of late have been more to my taste than ever, and if you were once an avid follower but have strayed - wander back over and check out what he has been up to lately…

frank, fashion & almost cinematic - what more do you want?
He has many a famous face amongst his portrait work but unless you were particularly familiar with the face itself or the name tagged below you wouldn’t know it, they’re all so ‘easy’ or perhaps at ease. There doesn’t seem to be anything forced about his shots even though the circumstance of some of them are far from natural, everyday occurrences (well at least i imagine for the most of us, maybe this guy just leads a pretty sweet life). Check out more of his work here.
Or his BLOG here.
